Client Network Night: Welcome from Glen Mather

July 2, 2019

Welcome all of you to our summer 2019 client event !

What an interesting time it has been – an economy that has had a long run.

Recently, the Wall Street Journal had an interesting article about the economy – written about how we tend to just measure it based on the price of things, and how many of us focus on housing and land, and whether we and our friends are employed.  Economists call this “Consumer Confidence” – how the public feels about how well they are doing and how positive they are about the future.

NuView February Update

February 5, 2019

A business partner of mine called me a few weeks ago, and after catching up, learned he was heading to the small county airport nearby to sky jump.  He had never talked about it, and although I shared my opinion, he disagreed with my hypothesis that the risk certainly outweighed the short feeling of euphoria caused by dropping like a stone before his parachute would open (hopefully).

Our clients often hear similar remarks from friends, suggesting that self-directing is somehow illegal, and if not, certainly dangerous.  They say the safer approach is sticking to stock market solutions, reducing risk through mutual funds, and better than that, index funds.  Yet, the number of IRA clients that self-direct with NuView are growing at a rate approaching 20% per year, and collectively, their asset values are growing as well.

Setting Goals for 2019

January 3, 2019

I have a friend, Craig, who is a local custom builder and has been part of all the ups and downs of the construction industry here in Florida.  I thought it was a challenge operating a Trust Company until I heard about his issues; when times are good, it is extremely difficult to find subcontractors such as framers, roofers, electricians, concrete pourers and others.  When times are bad, you just don’t have buyers, yet you still have to pay your staff regardless.   While Craig has successfully navigated his business for over 30 years, I’m most impressed at his dogged tracking of his retirement planning.

Wrapping Up 2018

November 29, 2018

It’s about time to close the book on 2018 – and what a year of change!  If you recall, the optimistically named Tax Cuts and Jobs Act that was passed less than twelve months ago is now about to affect most of us and we will soon discover if it was all that it was cracked up to be.  Meanwhile, my friends that are preparing for retirement the traditional way with stocks and bonds have had a choppy last few months, that’s for sure. Hello From the CEO!

November 2, 2018

In Florida the weather has finally turned, down to a chilly 60 degrees last night – and I had to get several windows unstuck from their six-month closed position.   I hope that all of you are enjoying the change of the seasons, and if the prospect of snow is a bit depressing, come visit your IRA in Orlando anytime.

It’s a great time of year to take a look at your investment performance as well.  Will you accomplish the growth in your IRA this year compared to what you forecasted in January?  Here is a brief checklist to consider that several of our clients use:

Our NuView Update

September 28, 2018

It was so good to see so many of you at our fifth annual Planning for Prosperity in Orlando last month.  The connections and networking were better than ever, and according to our exit surveys over 80% will be coming back next year.  It’s all done for you, the best IRA investors ever – and as such, please let me know any speaker that you have heard that you will want to hear in our 2019 edition.

A bit of good news for those that are contributing to their retirement plans.  Next year the limits for Traditional and Roth IRAs bump up by $500 to $6,000 with the over age fifty bonus staying at $1000.  The Simple IRA contribution increases by $500 as well, and the popular solo 401k or QRP maximums increase by $1000 to $56,000, plus $6000 for those over age 50.

Hello From the CEO

August 22, 2018

Continuing Education is something that most professionals begrudgingly fulfill to keep their licenses active. However, it’s a bit different with NuView Trust clients. CE is something that they eagerly seek –especially if it means higher returns with new investment ideas.

I look forward to seeing many of you personally at our fifth annual Planning for Prosperity event in Orlando on September 7th.  What an event it plans to be!

For one day only, we have crammed in five national speakers, four panels and lots of networking time, all with one objective – to help you become even more active with your self-directed IRA.  Our mission is to “Give You the Choice to Retire Well,” as many of our clients just want to learn more from industry experts, as well as their peers.
